Primary 4 students learnt the story, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, word for word. They internalized narrative patterns – the language of stories – and then recycled them in their own versions of the story to create books complete with cover page, dedication, illustrations, reviews and blurb.

Finally, the Primary 4s had an opportunity to share their stories, one memorable afternoon with our Secondary 4 students, who listened intently and asked a variety of questions about the characters, the plot and much more. The Secondary 4 students ended their time together with the Primary 4s by giving encouraging and positive comments to the young authors.
